Siggetorp Manor: A 16th-century estate bridging medieval and modern aesthetics

The estate, known as Siggetorp, is found in the three parishes of Råda, Mellby, and Åsaka in Kållands härad southwest of Lidköping. First mentioned in written records in 1291, Siggetorp has experienced a variety of owners throughout history, such as the Ekeblad and Fock families, Lorenz Bogislav Hommerberg, Sigge himself, a Swedish storman who owned the manor in the 1300s, and B G L Hommerberg, a descendant of Lorenz Bogislav Hommerberg, who renovated the manor in the 1900s. Constructed in the 1500s, the mansion has stood as a historical monument for centuries. In the 1700s, the Ollonberg family owned the estate, and in the 19th century, it was acquired by Lorenz Bogislav Hommerberg. The barn was rebuilt in 1934 after a fire and has since gained recognition for its modern design.
