Three reincarnations of Luleå's cathedral: a testament to its resilience

At Nygatan 10, Luleå’s cathedral, also known as Luleå domkyrka, has stood since its rebuilding in 1893, taking the place of the Diocese of Luleå’s church. Reborn after two predecessors that met untimely ends, the current structure was the third to stand on the site, following a 17th-century wooden church that was demolished and a stone building that was destroyed by fire in 1887.
