The Roman Villa of Santa Cruz sits within the Yacimiento Arqueológico de la Villa Romana de Santa Cruz de Baños de Valdearados, in Spain. This villa, built during the 4th and 5th centuries, was declared a Bien de Interés Cultural (BIC) on March 11, 1994. Constructed by illustrious owners, the villa features a mosaic in its main room, surrounded by scenes of Bacchantes. This mosaic portrays the triumphant return of Bacchus, draped in a sarape, holding a cask in his right hand and a torch in his left, atop a chariot pulled by panthers. The two other surviving mosaic fragments show dogs chasing hares and martens.
