At the end of the 18th century, the sea fortress Lilla Hornsberg is a popular outing for Carl Michael Bellman and other city dwellers. In his poem Lilla Hornsberg from July 1779, the poet writes:
“A clear and white sky,
and the weather calm that day,”
Just as half past eight struck, we arrived for coffee.
Bearded, with barely a full stomach
stood the fisherman outside in the Christmas,
and the bull outside in the yard
raised his horns to the sky.
A vip sparrow was found lifeless,
dwiped in the cauldron.
I dumpster and luggage
I unexpectedly meet and enjoy,
but I most enjoy when they poke
About a spent Lenten fast.">
