This colony was established in 1918 by Dalaföreningen, which decided to form a smallholding association. Dalarna's country-folk were in high demand in the Stockholm region at the beginning of the 1900s. Dalaföreningen wanted to give its members the opportunity to grow potatoes and vegetables near Stockholm. Many of these seasonal workers were looking for a way of life that offered continuity and community.

One of the first houses built in the 1920s.
Today, it is mostly children and relatives of the original "colonists" who live here.
