Build and Live

Build and Live

A tale of construction, creativity, and camaraderie in a small Swedish town.

In 1925, Sven Markelius won the Stockholm Building Engineers Association's architecture competition and was thus able to participate in planning the housing exhibition Bygge och Bo. His competition entry, named 'Back to the world – nose to the hearth', was a plan that created a closed unit with a square in the middle. Sven Markelius himself designed several of the houses, including Amorvägen 9. Other architects who participated were Tage William-Olsson, Ture Wennerholm, and Sven Ivar Lind. Take a right turn on Amorvägen, then a left on Bågvägen and finally another right on Askrikevägen.
