In the intersection of Skyttevägen/ Askrikevägen, there was previously the oldest and largest of the three brickyards on the island, the other two being located at Kyttingeviken and Ekholmsnäs. Bo gårds brickyard came into existence in the middle of the 19th century and was shut down at the end of the same century. The Vanföreanstalten was later placed on this spot.
