Ermita del Puig

The Ermita del Puig, a Romanesque chapel situated in Esparreguera, Spain, was constructed around the 10th century. Originally known as 'església de Santa Maria', it served as the parish church of Castell d'Esparreguera. Located on a small plateau elevated above the valley of the riu Llobregat, the chapel features a single nave, a semicircular apse, and is covered with a vault of canó. It shows evidence of many reconstructions, and today it is under the care of the Amics de Santa Maria del Puig, who are responsible for its restoration, maintenance, and promotion. The chapel was included in the Inventari del Patrimoni Arquitectònic de Catalunya.
