Château de Savigny-lès-Beaune: A Fortified Castle with a Collection of Over 35

Constructed around 1340 by Jean de Frolois, Marshal of the Duchy of Burgundy, for Duke Eudes IV of Burgundy, the Château de Savigny-lès-Beaune is a 14th-century castle fort. The château was destroyed in 1478, on Louis XI's order, due to its owner taking the side of Duchess Marie of Burgundy against him during the War of the Succession of Burgundy. However, only the dovecotes remain visible on two towers. Three centuries later, in 1605, Louise Petit, widow of Antoine Juret, became Lady of Savigny. Over the centuries, the château has been extensively restored and converted into a museum with a collection of over 25 prototypes of tractor jammers, presses for wine, and hand tools in the castle, as well as an impressive collection of over 35 racing cars, more than 100 fighter aircraft, military aircraft, and helicopters in the park, and 2000 aircraft models in the castle.
