Auburn's Library, Belonging to the Ballards Till the End

The Auburn Public Library, not a gift from local generosity, but from the Ballards. With a twist: the estate would reclaim the library once it ceased operations.

The Auburn Public Library won't find a name on any local hero's tombstone, but the Ballards'. They donated the land and some funds, but there was a condition - the library would be repossessed by the Ballards when its library life ended. It resembles the standard Carnegie Libraries in its size and casement windows, but in 1962, a newer library popped up, bringing the property back into Ballard hands. Today, the Ballards still own this building, fondly called 'Auburn's Library'.
