An old church in a remote Asturian village

The Church of Santa María de Llas, considered a historical monument, is located in the Las Arenas parish of the municipality of Cabrales, in Asturias, Spain. It was built in the Asturian Gothic style but retains a Romanesque main portal. The church served as a battleground during the Catholic Monarchs' attempt to suppress Protestantism in the area, leading to its eventual abandonment. Today it remains a picturesque site, offering a glimpse into the past, and continues to stand as an architectural marvel over 500 years later.
