Since 1970, an artwork named Threading A Button, secured by the Garment District Alliance, has inhabited New York's Garment District, making its home in Manhattan. This work, designed by James Biber, was the neighborhood's first permanent art. Crafted from stainless steel and aluminum, the artwork isn't our focus. Instead, it's the towering button, where once stood a kiosk, that's garnered attention and left visitors puzzled for over four decades.
