Ahmed Zabana Stadium: Oran's 40,000-capacity multi-purpose venue

Located near the center of Oran, the Ahmed Zabana Stadium is a major sporting venue that has served as a home ground for MC Oran.

Ahmed Zabana Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Oran, Algeria, used mostly for football matches. It serves as the home ground of MC Oran and has a capacity of 40,000 spectators. The stadium is located near the center of the city.

The stadium was built in 1955 in the El Hamri district of Oran, known as Lyautey at the time, by mayor Henri Fouquès-Duparc. It was inaugurated on 5 May 1957 with a capacity of 40,000, making it the biggest stadium in Africa at that time. After Algerian independence, it was renamed Municipal Stadium.

It was later renamed Stade du 19 Juin 1956 in commemoration of the military coup of Ahmed Ben Bella by Houari Boumediene on that date. In 1992, Algerian president Mohamed Boudiaf renamed it Stade Ahmed Zabana in honor of revolutionary Ahmed Zabana. In January 2008, the stadium was renovated to be compatible with rugby union and equipped with fifth generation artificial turf to replace natural grass.
