A bronze statue honors Gothenburg's working-class families

Arbetarhustru, a bronze statue in Gothenburg's Landala torg, represents the homes of Landala's working-class families. The statue was initiated by Gamla Landalapojkar, with Arthur Lund leading the way. After a collection, it was unveiled on October 11, 1980. The inscription on the base is by Holger Oijens and reads: 'With a firm hand, strong from work, soft from love, you held the home together.' Designed by Elma Oijens, a replica of this statue is located on the inner courtyard of the housing association Örnen in Malmö.
