The debacle of Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1933 wasn't far from a comedy show. Doors refused to open, the crowd roared deafeningly, and an untimely alarm added to the chaos. Locking the doors to keep the crowd under control only worsened the confusion. To add insult to injury, the count from this shambolic ceremony went missing. A standing ovation indeed.
