Uppsala's Historical Runic Stone: A Closer Look at Vaksala Church's Uppland

Uppland Runic Inscription 962 is a runic stone situated outside Vaksala Church, in Uppsala, Sweden. It stands near three other stones, U 963, U 964, and U 965. U 962 is the northernmost of the four stones. The stone stands 1.5 meters tall and 0.8 meters wide. The run-height is 5 centimeters. The edge of the stone, bearing the engraver's name, has eroded over time. It was initially placed within the churchyard wall, but was moved to its current location in 1948. The inscription reads, 'after himself while alive.' and 'fastens.'
