The world's oldest working steam engine can be found at Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum. This marvel was built by Boulton and Watt in May 1779. Originally installed at Smethwick, England, it was moved for preservation purposes in 1897-98. The engine's original site can still be seen on Bridge Street North, accessible through tours arranged by the Galton Valley Canal Heritage Centre.
