Cornus, an ancient Punic-Roman town in Sardinia, near the modern-day town of Cuglieri, was the site of a significant conflict in 259 BC. This battle, during the revolt of Hampsicora, saw the Sardinians, the Roman Republic, and the Carthaginians clash. Today, Cornus is an archaeological site. A large well temple complex stands where Roman soldiers once fought, a testament to the historic event that occurred there.
