Situated on Alto Street, 518, in the fine city of Santa Fe, New Mexico, the Donaciano Vigil House was built way back in 1832. This single-story abode, constructed from good ol' adobe, stands as a living, breathing testament to the Territorial style. The household was once the digs of the Vigil clan, and it welcomed the one and only Donaciano Vigil, the first Hispanic governor of New Mexico under US rule. With all the political clamor buzzin' about, it was a real hive of activity, if I do say so myself. This historical jewel was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. The restoration work began in 1959, and it's kept the Vigil House lookin' as fresh as a daisy as it did back in the day.
