Located in the Barrio de El Jesús in the municipality of Tijarafe on the island of La Palma, the Ermita del Buen Jesús sits on a promontory next to the Barranco del Jurado. Built during the second half of the 16th century, the building has been dedicated to Jesus since its construction. Inside, it houses images of the Niño Jesús and Nuestra Señora de la Consolación.
The structure consists of a rectangular nave with an entrance facing west, joined on the right by a small rectangular sacristy. The nave lacks windows, lighting, a choir, and a balcony over the entrance, which are typical features of this type of building. It features a four-pitched roof with simple ornaments of hounds and fretwork. Above the entrance door, a bell tower holds a bell.
This simple and sober building reveals the humble and poor character of the inhabitants who once lived in this jurisdiction. It is recognized as a Bien de Interés Cultural, reflecting its historical significance as a monument in the local landscape.
