In your travels, it's easy to miss the National Katyń Memorial as you journey to Baltimore's waterfront. But if you're wise to the city's hidden gems, it's worth a visit – the Captain, meatballs, and harbor have met their match. Standing a whopping 56 feet tall, this whopper of a sculpture, crafted by Polish-American artist Andrzej Pitynski, towers over the rest of the city. It was erected in 2000 as a memorial to the victims of the 1940 Katyn massacre, and was even flown over from Poland. This striking piece of contemporary art rises above the intersection of Aliceanna and President streets, right in Inner Harbor East.
