Fremont, California. In the spooky Vallejo Mill Historical Park, you'll find the decaying Vallejo Flour Mill, which began producing in 1856, relying on a dam and aqueduct for power. Now, only a formidable stone base stands, with a sight that catches the eye - an overshot wheel, a whopping 30 feet across and 8 feet wide, inscribed by J.P in 1860. The millstone itself measures a modest 4 feet in diameter. At its prime, it could rake in $5,000 a day, producing 150 barrels of flour. But the true horror story lies elsewhere. In 1977, a law enforcer met a tragic end, which was swiftly followed by the demise of his wife. Proceed with caution.
