What was once a grand entryway to a lord's castle now lies, weathered and weather-beaten, amongst the modern houses of Riez. Recognized as a monument historique in 1921, it stands stoically, a testament to times prior, its antiquated stones providing an unconventional playground for the skydiving inclined. The houses surrounding it, with their transient inhabitants, seem to keep silent secrets, with Ayguières Gate their seemingly eternal confidant, whispering its ghostly tales to those who dare to inquire.
