The Crown Sconce, or Skansen Kronan, is an historic fortress situated on the hill Risåsberget in the Haga district of Gothenburg, Sweden. Built by Erik Dahlbergh and commissioned in 1698, the fort was completed in 1700. Its walls, 4-5 meters thick, were made of granite, gneiss, and diabase. Contrary to initial impressions, while this fortress was never used for its intended purpose, it did later become a military museum, opening on 23 November 1904.
