Four bronze brutes, affectionately known as 'The Group', set up shop in Central Park's Pat Hoffman Friedman Playground on August 20, 1990. However, these laid-back long-timers were actually crafted by Paul Manship way back in 1933. It's pretty neat that you can find copies of these artful bears in various spots, like the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Bronx Zoo, and even Compton Gardens, Bentonville, Arkansas. These Central Park bears have a chilled-out vibe, with their heads tilted and bodies relaxed. But don't forget, Central Park's got way more to offer than just some chillin' bears for any smart traveler to New York City.
