The Arengario, nestled in the heart of Monza, stands as a symbol of the city's rich heritage. Originally functioning as the municipal hall due to its 13th-century origin, the elaborate Arengario architecture was punctuated with inspiration drawn from the Palazzo della Ragione of Milan. A portico adorned the upper floor, which served as a venue for council meetings, featuring a small balcony called 'la Parléra,' added to the Arengario in 1330. Decrees were proclaimed to the populace from this balcony. In the 14th century, a bell tower embellished the Arengario, adorned with Ghibelline-styled merlons.
