The Abandoned Bullring of Figueres

The Plaça de Braus de Figueres is a bullring in Figueres (Alt Empordà) protected as a local cultural heritage site. Built in 1894, it has a typical octagonal layout appropriate for its use. The entrance to the Plaça de Braus de Figueres is a large arc of a barrel vault, decorated with a plaque that reads 'PLAZA DE TOROS' at the top. The roofline of the Plaza de Braus de Figueres is decorated with repetitive crenelations across the upper part of the building. On either side of the entrance to the Plaza de Braus de Figueres, there are three arches at the lower level, and blank double-arched openings at the upper level. Despite the grand appearance, the Plaça de Braus de Figueres has been in continuous use since 1894 and is currently protected as a local cultural heritage site.
