San Miniato al Monte is a basilica in Florence, Italy, standing atop one of the highest points in the city. It has been described as one of the finest Romanesque structures in Tuscany and one of the most scenic churches in Italy. There is an adjoining monastery, not the Olivetans started, but a Benedictine community, then passed to the Cluniacs and in 1373 to the Olivetans. The monastery, financed by the Florentine Arte di Calimala (cloth merchants’ guild), is perhaps most famous for the liqueurs, honey, and herbal teas made by the monks, which are sold from a shop next to the church. The monastery's facade started around 1090.
