Nestled within the modern city, the archaeological site of Fiesole occupies roughly three acres in the northern valley. What lies beneath includes a theater, a thermal complex, a Roman-Etruscan temple, and fragments of Etruscan walls. The Museum Archaeological of Fiesole is home to the artifacts unearthed during these excavations. Each discovery offers glimpses from the Etruscan era to the Longobard era, spanning a history that reaches back to the Neolithic period and the Villanovan era.
