Ramhälls gruvor

Ramhälls Gruvor is a microcosm of Swedish mining history, with the mine being in operation from the 1740s to the 1970s. The mine was once part of a larger operation that controlled much of Sweden's copper production. In 1942, Stora Kopparberg took over and brought in new mining technology. The mine complex, closed in the mid-1970s, contains the remnants of an enrichment plant built in 1957. Today, visitors can walk through the abandoned complex, climbing in the old lift cage and standing in the remnants of an enrichment plant built in 1957. The site offers a glimpse into over 250 years of history.
