The administrative buildings of the original Penza were located in the area of Sobornaya Square. According to one version, the underground passage should run from the former archbishop’s house (Sobornaya Square, building 1). Currently, the building houses a church and the Russian Orthodox Church diocese, but in Soviet times people lived there (the last residents were relocated in the 2000s). Time and again, enthusiasts tried to find the treasure and the underground passage — they interviewed residents, explored the building, but the mystery remains unsolved to this day...
