Park Hyatt Tokyo Hotel (Japan, Tokyo)

3-chōme-7-1 Nishishinjuku, Shinjuku City, Tokyo 160-0023, Japan

This now legendary five-star hotel gained worldwide fame after becoming the setting for Sofia Coppola’s film *Lost in Translation*, where Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson play out their Tokyo story amid futuristic interiors.
The Park Hyatt hotel is perhaps the most famous of all the hotels in Tokyo, and all thanks to the fact that the film "Lost in Translation" takes place there. It’s worth staying at the Park Hyatt Tokyo or at least visiting the now legendary bar just for the panoramic views from the windows. The film received numerous awards, including the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Since the film’s release, the New York Bar on the 52nd floor has always been full of visitors. Here, guests can enjoy a wonderful atmosphere, live jazz music, a wide variety of cocktails, and a magnificent city panorama.
The luxurious hotel is one of the best in the Hyatt chain. Its staff is known for hospitality and impeccable fulfillment of all guest wishes, starting from the check-in process. The hotel is located in the Shinjuku district, close to the busiest railway station in the city. From here, it takes just a few minutes to reach the center of nightlife — the charming Kagurazaka district. It was there that Bob (Bill Murray) and Charlotte (Scarlett Johansson) first met, and it was there that their joint journey through Japan began.

Sofia Coppola (daughter of the famous director Francis Ford Coppola, who gave us "The Godfather") in her film "Lost in Translation" transports the viewer to bustling Tokyo, to a luxurious five-star hotel. Almost all scenes take place inside the hotel, where the main characters seek refuge from loneliness. Throughout the film, we observe the hotel: from the main entrance, the pool, and the fitness center with panoramic views, to the hotel rooms and the New York Bar located on the 52nd floor of the skyscraper.

It is also worth noting the view that opens up from almost every corner of the hotel onto the unparalleled Tokyo.
The building was depicted as a destroyed UFO in the film Godzilla 2000.
