Located on Grand Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa, Herndon Hall is an historical residential building also known as the Bergmann Mansion. The house was built in 1881 in the Queen Anne style and was designed by the architectural firm of Foster & Liebbe. It was built for attorney Jefferson Polk, who named the house after his wife, Julia Herndon.
Over the years, the building has served several different purposes. It was the home of three bishops of the Diocese of Des Moines and functioned as a clothing store. It also served as the National Headquarters for Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate Service. Currently, the house houses a cosmetic and reconstructive surgery practice.
Herndon Hall was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. The property continues to stand as a significant historical structure in the Des Moines area at 2000 Grand Avenue.
