In the heart of South Carolina, in Aiken, the Legare-Morgan House was birthed in 1850. This quaint, one-story clapboard mansion was a temporary haven for James Mathews Legare from 1850 to 1859. Today, it's nestled near the downtown district. After Legare, it was purchased by Thomas C. Morgan. On September 22, 1977, it earned a spot as a historical landmark on the National Register of Historic Places.
