Beloe Lake, Gatchina, Leningrad Region, Russia, 188304
The Admiralty (or "Holland") is a park structure in the Palace Park of the city of Gatchina. The exact date of the Admiralty's construction is unknown; it was most likely built in the early 1790s. The building harmoniously blended into the park landscape while simultaneously serving practical functions. The Admiralty was intended for storing sailing and rowing boats used for excursions on the White Lake. It was a large wooden building supported by twelve rusticated pillars made from Paritsa stone slabs. In 1795, a small pond was dug near the Admiralty, which, due to its shape, was called the "Scoop" and served as a harbor. Ships of the lake flotilla were launched into this artificial harbor, which then passed through a narrow channel leading to White Lake. During the reign of Emperor Paul Petrovich, water battles were staged here involving the eight-gun yacht "Mirolub" and the frigate "Emprenable," equipped with sixteen guns. By the late 19th century, the Admiralty was used as storage for naval weapons and boats. Currently, restoration work has begun to recreate the historical appearance of this park object.

The pond was connected to White Lake by a narrow canal, over which a wooden drawbridge on stone supports was built. Under Paul I, the Admiralty building was used for the repair, outfitting, and assembly of small vessels that participated in mock "naval" battles on the lake, including boarding actions and landings, as well as for pleasure boats.
By the late 19th century, the Admiralty served as storage for the weapons of the sailors of the "mock fleet," and later housed a rich collection of models of rowing and sailing vessels. During the Great Patriotic War, the building was damaged but was restored after the war and, as before, served various utilitarian purposes. Additionally, on the side opposite the lake, a stage was installed inside the building along with benches.
The building was destroyed by fire on July 19, 1993. In 2009, the twelve leaning columns remaining after the fire were straightened. Then, inexplicably, four more columns in the same style were erected among them. As of the end of 2022, all 16 columns still stand, with no signs of reconstruction of the Admiralty.
