Hangin' out with Mary and Dickon in Central Park, NYC

Wanderin' around Central Park, you might bump into characters from The Secret Garden, brought to life in bronze at the Frances Hodgson Burnett Memorial Fountain

Tucked away, just off Fifth Avenue by the Museum of the City (New York), you’ll find this little gem - the Frances Hodgson Burnett Memorial Fountain. It’s dedicated to the writer behind ‘The Secret Garden’ and 'Little Lord Fauntleroy', and showcases Mary and Dickon from the former, two enchanting characters from the world of children’s literature.

This bronze sculpture and fountain was created by sculptor Bessie Potter Vonnoh in 1936 and dedicated on May 28, 1937, by Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia. It serves as a memorial to the author of several literary classics.

A lovely spot for a nostalgic stroll amidst the characters from the book, enjoyin' the tranquility of the park.
