Known as St. Romain's Church, this elusive riddle resides in the picturesque town of Druyes-les-Belles-Fontaines, France. But if you haven't heard, the first slice of this temporal pie was baked in the 6th century by the vagabond saint, Saint Romain of Subiaco. Not exactly Cook's recipe, the church took an early burn in the fag end of the 11th century, but the resilient St. Romain emerged from the ashes yet again in the 12th century, this time sporting a Romanesque look. A little patronage came in 1888, the French Government officially acknowledging the church as a historical monument. Yet, much like a vampire shunning sunlight, it continues to remain a mystery, buckling under the burden of time but never putting away its air of intrigue.
