Edgbaston Hall

Edgbaston Hall, a country house in Edgbaston, England, has an intriguing past, being a notable stronghold during the English Civil War. Colonel John Fox and his troops, known as the Edgbaston Garrison, retained the grounds from August 19, 1645 to April 30, 1646.in the conflict. In 1717, Sir Richard Gough purchased the hall and began to have it rebuilt. A decade later, in 1776, Sir Henry Gough commissioned Capability Brown to lay out the park. William Withering resided at the hall during a later period of its history.
