A 19th-century Mock Castle within Herefordshire: Eastnor Castle with

Tucked away in Herefordshire, England, Eastnor Castle, a 19th-century mock castle, was commissioned by John Cocks, 1st Earl Somers. Constructed between 1811 and 1820 by Robert Smirke for £85,000 (£5.1 million in 2024 terms), A. W. N. Pugin performed internal alterations in 1849-1850, and George E. Fox made additional changes. A mill dating from the 18th century, restored to functioning status in the 21st century, can be found within Eastnor Castle.
