Secrets Beneath Real Sitio de San Ildefonso: Dos Castillas Station

Dos Castillas Station, formerly El Berracón, was a notable stop on Madrid's Madrid Metro Ligero. Part of Cercanías Madrid's C-9 line since the 1960s, the station was rarely a traditional stop on the Madrid Metro. Instead, it provided service to interested passengers only upon request. Situated on the SG-615 highway in Real Sitio de San Ildefonso (Segovia), the station ceased regular passenger service in the summer of 2011. Fares for Dos Castillas (now closed) were included in the Consorcio Regional de Transportes' Zona Verde. Until the summer of 2011, all intermediate stops between Cercedilla and Puerto de Navacerrada, as well as between Dos Castillas and Los Cotos, were closed.
