The Casal de la Joventut Republicana is a building in Lleida protected as a cultural asset of local interest. It features a ground floor corner building with three floors and a semi-basement. The facade has a classic composition with decorative treatment highlighting the openings, and the top floor features carefully crafted woodwork.
In this plot stood the famous Pati de les Comèdies, which already performed theatrical functions in the year 1630 and lasted until the 19th century. The Casal de la Joventut Republicana was built in 1919. After the war, it was confiscated by the state in 1939 and transformed into a barracks for the Guardia Civil.
In 2004, remodeling work began to convert the building into the headquarters of the Institut Municipal d'Acció Cultural. The architects Carles Sàez Llorca and Ferran Florensa Mayoral were responsible for drafting the renovation project.
