California's West Coast Stone Memorial - A Chill Salute to the WWII Pals

Down at San Fran's coast, you'll find this chill stone memorial honoring over 400 WWII pals who went MIA at sea. Pretty sweet design, no?

This memorial is dedicated to all those pals who lost it at sea during the war. If you're hanging in San Francisco, Cali, you can check it out. It's called the West Coast Memorial to the Missing of World War II, and it's got the name, rank, organization, and state for each of the over 400 members of the Armed Forces who said their last goodbyes in the Pacific coastal waters. The architecture of this stone monument is handled by H.P. Clark, made of Cali granite, while the landscape is designed by L. Halprin. This place won the '65 Henry Hering Memorial Award for design. Not too shabby, eh? It's one of three Memorials in the US under the American Battle Monuments Commission, including our East Coast buddy and Honolulu mate.
