The Gargantuan Granite Gazer: Indiana's Ode to A. Hendricks

The Gargantuan Granite Gazer: Indiana's Ode to A. Hendricks

In 1890, a man of history made headlines - not a typo, but a pretty fitting pun.

In a state soaked with corn syrup and football fever, a monument rose in 1890. Handcrafted from Italian red granite, our hero was none other than Thomas A. Hendricks. Born in 1819, he wasn't nicknamed 'Mr Graniteite.' His base was so extensive, it was like an extra room. On top of this stone behemoth, two ostentatious bronze figures stood sentinel, 'Justice' and 'Enlightenment.' Just remember, if you visit these towering yarns, watch your head!
