The Curtis Mansion is a historic home located in Newark, New Castle County, Delaware. Built in 1903, the 2 1/2 story rectangular stone residence is designed in the Richardsonian Romanesque style. The house features a five-bay facade, a cross-gable roof, and a northeast corner tower. It also includes a wrap-around porch with Doric order column posts.
Alfred A. Curtis, one of the three sons of F. D. Curtis, owner and operator of the Curtis Paper Mill, built the house. The University of Delaware purchased the mansion and initially used it as a dormitory for French students.
In 1982, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places. It was subsequently acquired in 1992 by the English Language Institute of the University of Delaware, which currently occupies the site at 183 West Main Street.
