The St. James and Our Lady of the Pillar Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Bata, is a religious building and one of the three cathedrals in Equatorial Guinea. Located in the Litoral province, it follows the Latin rite and serves as the seat of the Diocese of Bata, under the leadership of Bishop Juan Matogo Oyana.
The building features neo-Gothic architecture designed by several missionaries. Construction on the structure began in 1951 during the period of Spanish rule and culminated on December 8, 1954, when it was officially consecrated.
In 2000, renovation work began with the support of the government of Equatorial Guinea, which was completed in 2005. Today, the cathedral is included in the list of national heritage monuments due to its historical and architectural significance.
