The Gate, Fence and Hollow Tree Shelter Designed by Dionicio Rodriguez - A work by noted artist Dionicio Rodriguez in Clayton, New Mexico.

Walking down Oak Street in Clayton, New Mexico, you can find the Gate, Fence and Hollow Tree Shelter. Created in 1943, these three faux bois sculptures were commissioned by speculator Bayliss C. Froman on his property after he saw the work of noted artist Dionicio Rodriguez during a visit to San Antonio.

The sculptures include a gate designed to resemble the entrance to the San Antonio Japanese Tea Garden. Beside the gate is an intertwining log fence and a hollow tree featuring textured bark.

The site is located at 320 Oak Street and is recognized as a historic work of art.
