The Mas d'Arjac dolmens are an ensemble of three dolmens located in the commune of Cabrerets in the department of Lot. These Neolithic structures are part of the archaeological heritage of the region and include several distinct sites with varying states of preservation.
Dolmen no. 1 is located at the foot of the Pech del Cayre, which is why it is sometimes called the dolmen du Pech-d'Alcayre. This structure has preserved its rounded tumulus, which has a diameter of approximately 21 meters. Oriented according to the azimuth 119 degrees, its covering plate covers an area of 9 square meters. It has been listed as a historical monument since 1966.
Dolmen no. 2 is situated on the left of the forest track leading up to the Pech del Cayre, about a hundred meters before dolmen no. 1. It is oriented according to the azimuth 70 degrees. Masked by vegetation, its state is quite critical - the table has disappeared and the two orthostates are heavily damaged in their upper parts emerging from the ground. The chambre sépulcrale is almost filled with rubble.
Dolmen no. 3 was located near the ridge of the Pech del Cayre but was destroyed during reforestation work. It was oriented according to the azimuth 79 degrees. Its characteristics are known thanks to a survey previously carried out by Jean Clottes. The tumulus, which was 12 meters in diameter, was already started in its northern part.
