In the heart of Fort Wayne, Indiana - a pit stop when aiming for the horizon - stands Abraham Lincoln, the Hoosier Youth. At 12.5 feet, he's a colossal figure, eternally cast between the wings of an old insurance company HQ. But give it a moment, and you'll see more – an introspective hound dog staring at the skies, spinning yarns with his paws. It's possible this dog was old Abe's, although the official tale denies it. As recounted by Lincoln's biographer, William Herndon, young Abraham once froze his tuckus to ferry a canine companion across a chilly stream, reuniting with a wagon party.
