Monumental automotive inspiration at the cold, hard steel Fordon sculpture

Fordon is a sculpture by Karl Göte Bejemark, made of corten steel, located at Eriksbergsplan, Stockholm. Erected in 1973, it consists of a large sculpture of a rushing cart and a smaller group of human-like figures and a dog in woven plate. The sculpture stands alone today, a mute testimony to the past. Its weight is in the ordinary - a cart and its passengers, cast in cold, hard steel that resists the elements of a century. The cart, emblazoned with 'Fordon', is a forgotten memory, but a story worth knowing. Fordon is still there, with its passengers and the dog - a silent monument to the city.
