The towering rune stone of Hälsingtuna church: the largest in Sweden

The largest runestone in Sweden, the Hälsingtuna Hs 10 runestone, stands proudly at Hälsingtuna church in the Hälsingtuna parish, in the Hudiksvalls district of Hälsingland. The runestone was already in its current location before the 1100s church was built. Part of the inscription is worn away, but the ornamentation consists of two profiled round animals and a large, braided cross. The runestone is inscribed with a text that transliterates as follows: runor, Linis sun, denna sten. som söderut i. denna sten efter sina tre söner, Fróðmarr/Hróðmarr. och Brúsi Ásbjörns son målade dessa runor. tyd. The translation of the runestone also includes Álfrún in the inscription. The stone was read by Peterson in 1994 and Källström in 2007.
